Restaurant Adventures: Cooper’s Hawk Review

My husband and I love trying out new restaurants for date night. During the pandemic, we’ve made it a point to safely support local restaurants while keeping up with our much-adored tradition of nights to ourselves.

A few weeks ago, we decided to try out Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant after I came across it a while ago. They have several locations across the country and six between Maryland and Virginia. We went to the Annapolis location. The service and food were amazing.

The low-lighting set the perfect mood and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the food offerings. That’s key for me since I love finding out about specialty dishes and even what the staff themselves like and recommend. One thing I absolutely loved about Cooper’s is that the menu provides wine suggestions for each food item.

For cocktails, we ordered Sangria-tini, Nightjar Sangria, and Cranberry Spritz. For appetizers, we went with the crab and lobster bisque, meatballs & crostinis, and southwest egg rolls. It was all delicious.

For dinner, we ordered churrasco skirt steak and jambalaya. My favorite was the tomato-braised kale! After dinner, we went for a wine tasting at their wine bar. It’s such a cool experience to be able to dine and then do a wine tasting in the same place. This makes Cooper’s perfect for date nights, birthday dinners, and girls’ night out.

We ended up sampling 8 wines and purchased three bottles. We even signed up for their membership club! This was one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had in terms of food quality and service. We will definitely be back soon!
