Before COVID, Rasoul and I loved visiting vineyards and wine bars. It’s one of our favorite activities! Years ago we stopped at Rooftop Reds, the world's first rooftop vineyard and winery located in Brooklyn Navy Yard. They are a reservation-only establishment and were already booked for the day, so we decided to come back in the future.
When planning Rasoul's birthday trip this year, I knew I wanted us to visit Rooftop Reds so I purchased their $15 tickets in advance. We arrived at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. It was a perfect day as there was an overcast so it wasn’t too hot.
We took the hike up to the top of the building, and the views of the Manhattan skyline did not disappoint. The 14,800 square-foot rooftop has nearly 200 grapevines helping Rooftop Reds produce between 20-25 cases of wine each year.
We were taken to our assigned seats and given @boxedwater, the sustainably-packaged water brand.
Their wine menu featured dessert wines, white wines, red wines, and orange wines. I went with the rosé flight and @igotsoul89 got the “Little Bit of This a Little Bit of That” flight.
They partner with Il Porto @ilportobk who provide a wide selection of pizza. Everything was so good!
This is a spot we for sure are coming back to visit! Make sure to check out the Food & Drink section of my blog for more places to visit!
